Do you get mad when your favorite sports team loses?
How do you handle the situation when you see that your team is getting crushed. I just Curse a lot and turn the T.V off.
I might yell a little during the game if my team makes a stupid play, but if they lose, I usually just say "you idiots deserved to lose that one". I don’t curse though, that sets a poor example for the kids lol.
My teams are the Steelers, Lakers and Mets.
I might let out a "what are you DOING, you IDIOTS??" during a Steelers game if they make a bad play or miss an opportunity to make a big play.
During Laker games, I might say "geez, will you get a d**m rebound already??", but that’s the extent of it.
I haven’t expected much from the Mets in several years. A win is a nice surprise, but I don’t expect much from them any more.
I was a lot worse when I was younger, but after a while you realize that it’s not the end of the world.
The hardest loss I’ve ever had to endure was the ‘84 NBA Finals, when the Lakers lost to the Celtics. Every other Laker loss I can live with, because they usually get beat by a better team.
I didn’t even mind the Steelers losing to the Cowboys in the Super Bowl during the 90s… they weren’t anywhere near as good as those Dallas teams. The hardest Steeler loss to me was losing to Oakland in an AFC title game during the 70s.
With the Mets, I’ve seen them win a couple of World Series, and realize that it could be a lot worse… a lot of fans of other teams have never seen their team win a Series.
But now I’m mindful of setting a good example for my family when it comes to winning and losing in sports. That goes for watching sports on TV as well as sports and leagues we participate in as players ourselves.

Yes !!! I think I take this way too seriously. I usually tape the game. If the Brewers win, I watch it the next day. If they lose, re-tape.

I say "well theres always tommarow". And ocassionally I’ve said "another typical Texas season". I try not to curse- it’s really unlady like. I just yell out the full names of players.

i usually talk about the game with my friends who are also fans of the team and we discuss who sucked the most and just vent. and i’m usually in a bad mood for a bit (depending on the game, who we played, and if the game was exceptionally important).

If it is during the reg. season, I just try to tell my myself, "there is always tomorrow." In baseball, your team losing is inevitable. It is going to happen. You can’t get mad over every loss or you will go crazy. When the loss comes during the playoffs, it is a different story. Then I get pissed. I tend to have a bit of a potty mouth when things aren’t going right.

I am disappointed, but you have to remember it is just a game. You are interested in it and it should be your fun and not get you so pissed.

Not angry, just upset. As pathetic as it sounds, the rest of the day is a little ruined for me after the Sox lose.. but I’m very rarely ever angry after we lose, just sad or frustrated, but always looking forward to the next game.

Of course i do. So that means im mad year round because I live in Cincinnati. Reds and Bengals are usually awful. But its the Bengals year this year (i hope). And the Reds have had i think 8 straight losing seasons. Its no fun here in the Cincy.

I get moody for the rest of they day. My sister and I have a rivalry thing and she tries to piss me off with the loss. So I just like to say tomorrow will be different and not talk about it. Although sometimes during the game i’ll be like WTF! or I scream out the players name if he GIDP like for ex: James Anthony Loney! or Andre Everett Ethier! (including the middle names lol) Except Russell Martin because he has a long @ss name "Russell Nathan Coltrane Jeanson Martin Jr". By the time i’m done saying his name i’ve already forgotten what he did. lol. So basically during the game I get mad but after I get over it because what is done is done.
