Ive never heard or read any irish fan say theyre going to kill everyone else. yes they underacheived last year but young teams do that, they gave lost 3 games that they had double digit leads in last year, they very much under acheived. but can you really blame anyone for being hopeful and optimistic about their team? i just think everyone needs to chill out, why do you care what us irish fans do anyway we only talk about OUR team anyway

So let me get this straight: Notre Dame is the only fanbase that can’t hope for improvement without being proud? Whenever we think there might be a light at the end of the tunnel we’re being idiotic?
If anyone pays the price for those “sins,” it’s us, the ND faithful. And if any program has reason to have aspirations, it’s ND. We could very well have a less than adequate year. Go ahead and shoot us if we dare to think otherwise for the moment.

Notre Dame does this every year. Every year, they’re improved, “and they claim they’re going to kill everyone.” And every year, this hubris, mystical idiotic fan base gets ahead of themselves. Last year, right before they lost Michigan State, Notre Dame message boards were raving (rivals and scout) that they were going to go undefeated. Guess what happened, they lost to Syracuse! Are they improved? Yes! Is Charlie Weis still coaching the fightless Irish?
