Agreed. I went to a Division II school, and college football is still a big deal… and it’s not just the game; the Band, the Cheerleaders, the traditional chants/songs, the concessions, etc..

At first I wanted to answer with NOT A SINGLE ONE…

But there are a lot of geeks out there that probably lost a girlfriend to a football player,

a lot of nerds that probably lost their drawers and got hazed at a college football party,

and a lot of drop outs that feel it was the college’s fault that they are losers…and they just have to blame football…

that all feel better when they put College Football down.

Who are these people you are referring to, media talking head, fans, or those voices in your head that you can’t control?

So there is some correlation between tradition and winning? So Nebraska and Florida State should be #1 and LSU and Florida shouldn’t show up.

And as far as college, many NCAA football players major in eligibility and are not really interested in an education but are there to just play football. The entire NCAA football program is a sham, it is slave labor for the NFL.

Until college football comes up with a "mercy rule " and a rule that prohibits dominant teams from playing" tomato cans" I will continue to put down college football

Having attended college well into my life I think that statement is rather snobbish. But to answer your question yes. I was a loyal OU fan before I went to school there. Not everyone likes the college game it is to unpredictable for some. They like the glitz and glitter of a TO or the gaul of Crabtree. To me the NFL is a reality show. I will watch it but I don’t live and breath the way I do college.

What does the richness of tradition have to do with liking college football. Did someone insult your teams mascot. Look at the Green bay Packers or the Baltimore Colts (I am not a fan of either) these were both teams with tradition rich programs.

I totally agree. I don’t see a lot of it in here but the ones I do see have probably never attended a football game past the high school level.

Does it matter? You can be a college football fan without attending college. I’m an NFL fan too, yet I never played in the NFL.
