My new boyfriend loves to watch BAD football teams?

Most guys I’ve known like to enjoy elite teams like the Florida Gators or the New England Patriots. My boyfriend likes the Cleveland Browns, an NFL team so bad that it’s debatable if they could even beat a good SEC college team. He especially gloats over their replacement starting quarterback Brady Quinn and howls over his arm strength (and other things I can’t write about).

He’s never even been to Cleveland. What’s up?

it doesn’t really matters if hes never been to Cleveland i live in pennsylvania and im in love with the oakland raiders a true fan is a fan on the good and the bad times but i do agree with you the browns so totally suck balls :D

Maybe he has some of their players on his fantasy football team. That gets me to watch bad teams or bad games.

He’s a true fan then and not some of the fairweather fans that many people are. I’m Texas born and raised, but I’ve been a Miami fan since birth and have never been to a game or Miami for that matter. It’s how we are raised and what we like about the team. I love underdogs, and my team is always one. My dream is to see them in the Super Bowl one of these days, as I’ve not seen them in a Super Bowl since I’ve been born.

Is he Elkgond by chance? hehe!

Most guy you knew were bandwagon losers this guy is loyal. If you like people that only root for teams because they are good that says alot about your character or lack of character.

Look at it this way you know he won’t cheat on you. If you think they couldn’t beat a college team I think you need to learn a little more about football.

I guess if he settles for less I’m not sure what that says about you, no offense.

    Yari is that E.T.?

Choose to look at the positive side of this.

It shows that he has loyalty even in bad time. That could be a good attribute for a boyfriend to have. It could be a sign that he will be loyal to you during the rough times all relationships go through!

First of all, stop being an SEC homer. The SEC isn’t even the best conference in college football.

Second of all, at least you know he’s loyal. Loyalty is what keeps him a Browns fan.

EDIT: Of course it’s Elk. Who else would it be?

Just shows that he’s a loyal fan. Some of these guys are probably bandwagon fans that just root for the winning teams. But he’s a loyal Browns fan

your boyfriend sounds like elkgond, does it happen to be him by any chance? haha

Maybe he started watching the browns at an early age and started rooting for them.

What’s wrong with liking who you like, wherever they are? I’m a Browns fan (not the boyfriend, though, don’t get any ideas!), Nebraska ‘Huskers and Milwaukee Brewers fan, and have been of each since the early ’90s. I live in MI, though, and have only been to a Brewers game (at Miller Park!). Does that make me less loyal? Or would you rather have a guy that rotates his teams based on who has the best win percentage? Is that how your former boyfriends rotated their girlfriends?

That "never been to <insert city>" argument is dumb, anyway- what if you live in Florida, but he was a Patriots fan? The Pats are an elite team, but it’s almost impractical to make frequent trips to Foxboro. That’d be a conflict now, wouldn’t it? He’d only meet one of the two criteria- would that only make him half of a fan?

Besides, there’s more pride in defeat than thrashings over small-market college teams that only want to get their butts kicked for the huge payday they’d receive (Charleston Southern, Troy, FIU, anyone?).

You should marry him. You know you can count on his loyalty, even after you become a fat, ugly b!tch.

It shows he’s loyal. If he’s loyal to his teams, he’s likely to be loyal to his girlfriend, too…

Personally, I’ve been a Patriots fan for about as long as I can remember. They’ve been good for the past several years, but there was a long time during the 80s and 90s where you could have been asking your question about me!
