Is criticism of Geithner fair or is it similar to the "Fire the coach!" argument on a losing sports team?

I'm a Chicago sports fan so I'm very familiar with failing sports teams. After a bad game, you could tune into sports radio and hear a chorus of voices convinced that all the team needed to win is a new coach. The fans don't want to blame the players, instead they second guess every move made by the coach and convince themselves that if only they were the coach, the team would have won.
Maybe it's a bad analogy, but it seems to be going on in the case of Geithner as well. I have my doubts about him, especially the way that the AIG bonuses were handled by him and the treasury in general, however I'm a little sceptical of people who want to saddle him with 100% of responsibility when it comes to the economy. There's definitely enough blame to go around.

He's a crook; an admitted crook who should never have been confirmed. However, democrats hold the nation in contempt and realize that they will not have this majority long so they shove people and policy down the peoples throats knowing that the zealots will defend them out of ignorance and the remaining constituency will ignore it out of apathy.

It's no big surprise though since president obammy only cares about his own narcissistic needs and continually proves how pitiable his entire party truly is. Much like carter we are in for a world of hurt but we can only hope that it is cleansing in a way so we can step down on the necks of liberals like we should have 40 years ago.

Are you the political class? That's the only part of the country in favor of Geithner.

Wake up and smell the coffee.

He should never have been appointed with his questionable tax history therefore he is fair game as far as I'm concerned.

No, you're right. I think the first person to blame is Obama, who in this scenario would be the general manager. He should have never appointed a guy that didn't pay his taxes on time. There is blame to go all around, but that doesn't change the fact that Geithner is an incompetent fool.
