The Barry Bonds Cocktail
So one of the greatest hitters in the history of the game seems to wonder what was in all those cocktails consumed during his playing days. This will be an interesting. For those of us who remember pitchers trembling on the mound trying to decide what to offer Barry Bonds at the plate, this is quite a turn of events. Or is it? Someone looking that good and that athletic at a ripe old age may not be unusual. But one who can plant a ball in the bay from 500 feet is someone unusual.
Common sense is sure to be tested in the Bonds case. What did he know he was drinking? What was in those things? Who made them? And what level of proof is the public going to need before having some degree of certainty whether or not Bonds was a great athlete or a terrific bartender?
Bonds history shows that he could play the game. The future will show a little more about how he played it.
